Aleksandar Kostić, president of MK Group and chairman of the supervisory board of AIK Bank, opened this year’s Kopaonik Business Forum with an exclusive conversation with Minja Miletić in a packed hall at the Grand Hotel Kopaonik. Aleksandar Kostić spoke about the strategic investments of MK Group and AIK Bank, the vision for business, the importance of developing our region, as well as valuable advice he received from his father, businessman and philanthropist Miodrag Kostić.
“We are living today in a new industrial revolution, and at its center is artificial intelligence. I think we need to be smart and see where the world is headed, follow the trends, and adapt our businesses,” said Aleksandar Kostić, emphasizing that investing in digitalization is profitable and that these trends have been present in MK Group and AIK Bank since 2010.
He pointed out that the business environment in Serbia and the region has a positive climate when it comes to future investments. “Serbia is a leader in economic growth, and anyone who wants to be regionally successful in business today must operate in Serbia. In all the markets where we operate, including Croatia and Slovenia, which are part of the European Union, we feel at home,” said Aleksandar Kostić, adding that he supports the arrival of foreign companies in our country.
He stated that he is satisfied with the results achieved in the previous year, 2024, revealing that 2025 has been budgeted as a record year and that he believes the management team will achieve the set goals, despite challenges related to the workforce and the search for qualified personnel that all businesses in Serbia, as well as beyond, are facing.
“Corporate social responsibility and philanthropy are extremely important in today’s business. There is no successful company that does not care about the community in which it operates. The Palace of Science is our contribution to the future and the development of young people, and our long-term goal is to see a new Serbian scientist emerge from it,” said Aleksandar Kostić, revealing in conclusion that the best advice he received from his father, Miodrag Kostić, was that knowledge is something no one can ever take away from us, and that it is important to continually work on personal improvement.
