MK Group and the Student Center in Zagreb signed an agreement on a donation of 100,000 euros to the Student Hall “Dr. Ante Starčević”, which has 3 pavilions in Croatia and provides accommodation for 1,200 students. Financial resources will be used for the complete renovation and equipping of the fitness room and gym. This donation is part of a regional philanthropic program worth 400,000 euros, which will include the renovation of four student halls in the countries of the Adria region where MK Group operates, and represents the continuation of regular activities supporting children, youth and education.
On this occasion, a meeting was held between the representatives of the Student Center in Zagreb and the MK Group company, who jointly agreed on the purpose of the donation, which will contribute to the improvement of the student standard by choosing an appropriate investment project, respecting the wishes and interests of the students.
„We would like to thank MK Group for its donations to the Student Center in Zagreb. The funds will be earmarked for the renovation of the gym and the fintess hall, along with the replacement of the floors, the purchase of new exercise equipment, the renovation of the changing rooms, as well as the installation of a new air conditioning and lighting system. With this arrangement and MK Group donation, we are contributing to the improvement of student standards in Zagreb and the Student Hall “Dr. Ante Starčević”. The University of Zagreb, as well as the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, were also introduced to the project. Investments in students and education are extremely important, because they are the future of the academic community”, said Mario Župan, Deputy Director of the Student Center in Zagreb.
„This year, our regional donations go to students in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro. We will allocate a total of 400,000 euros for student halls in the Adria region, where about 6,000 students live. In Croatia alone, we will donate 100,000 euros to the Student Hall “Dr. Ante Starčević”. Students are the focus of our regional social responsibility program this year, and our desire is to contribute to the education and development of new generations, and to provide the best students with quality conditions for learning and living during their studies”, said Jovan Purar, Director of Legal and General Affairs of the MK Group.
Students who are staying in the Student Hall “Dr. Ante Starčević”, a renovated fitness room and gym will await in the fall. Donations to student halls were preceded by donations to preschool institutions and maternity hospitals. Just last year, MK Group allocated 680,000 euros for the renovation of twenty kindergartens in the Adria region, while in 2022, 570,000 euros were donated to 7 maternity hospitals in the Adria region, all within the “Family Support” program, which continuously provides support to children and young people.
