Under the slogan “Serbia without barriers”, the third National Giving Day was celebrated, which is dedicated to removing all barriers and improving accessibility, both for people with disabilities and for all other citizens. At the event held in the Botanical Garden, the company MK Group was awarded a charter for outstanding contribution during the battle against the Corona virus and the development of charity and philanthropy.
Veran Matić, executive director of the Serbian Philanthropic Forum, pointed out that this year is specific for the pandemic and everything that the pandemic caused. Pointing out that the help in the amount of over one million and eight hundred thousand euros was collected and realized, he expressed his gratitude to all the members of SFF, and all those who joined the actions.
The National Giving Day was established in 2018 on the initiative of the Serbian Philanthropic Forum, and under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia. Since that year, it is celebrated on 9th of October every year, which is at the same time date of birth of Mijahlo Pupin, Great Serbian innovator and philanthropist. The National Giving Day is part of the Project for Improving the Giving Framework funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID Serbia) and implemented by the Charity Coalition consisting of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, Trag Foundation, Catalyst Balkans, Smart Kolektiv, Serbian Philanthropic Forum, Forum for Responsible Business and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
