The General Manager of MK Group, Mihailo Janković, participated in the panel “Serbian Economy as a Host from the Investor’s Perspective”, which was held on the third day of the Kopaonik Business Forum. On that occasion, he pointed out that in order to improve the investment climate and business environment in Serbia, a more transparent and consistent regulatory framework is important, but also that the focus must be on the development of human resources that should be carriers of high-tech investments and a fast-growing and modern economy sector.
Speaking about the new investment cycle of MK Group of 300 million euros in the next three years in Serbia and the region, Jankovic pointed out that the focus, as before, will be on tourism, agriculture and renewable energy sources. Asked how MK Group was received in Slovenia and Croatia, Janković said: “After the initial resistance we all were aware of, with our expertise, fair and transparent approach, responsible business and attitude towards the local community, we significantly changed the perception of Serbian investors in the region. The key contribution of MK Group as an investor is creating value for the local economy”.
Along with Mihailo Janković, General Manager of MK Group, the panel was attended by Zoran Drakulić, President of the Serbian Business Club “Privrednik”, Zoran Petrović, President of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, Goran Pekez, President of the Board of Directors of the Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia and Nebojsa Šaponjić, co-founder of Nelt, and the panel was moderated by Dušan Tomić, Partner of EY in the Business Consulting Department and the Business Transaction Consulting Department.
