MK Group has won the international TRANSIT award in the Industry category for the project “Transition to a Sustainable Future through Training and Education,” funded under the Horizon Europe program. The award was presented at the prestigious international conference “Innovative Smart Grid Technologies – Europe 2025,” held in Malta.

This award is given to organizations that have made exceptional contributions to energy transition and the development of renewable energy sources in Europe. MK Group has been recognized as a leader in Southeast Europe for its innovative approaches and responsible business practices in the energy sector. The awarded TRANSIT prize confirms the company’s long-standing efforts to enhance sustainable development and accelerate Serbia’s energy transition through investments in renewable energy projects. MK Group not only follows global trends but also shapes them, exemplifying a successful synergy between technology, innovation, and social responsibility.

At the conference, Darko Radosavljević, a representative of MK Group’s Energy division, presented on the topic “From Vision to Reality: Practical Lessons on Integrating Renewable Energy in Southeast Europe.” He emphasized that energy transition is not just a technical process but a social transformation requiring dialogue, cooperation, and trust among operators, investors, and regulators. “Europe aims for complete decarbonization by 2050. Our task is not to wait until we are ready, but to accelerate our own readiness,” Radosavljević stated.

The renewable energy projects of MK Group, a pioneer and leader in this field in Serbia and the region, attracted special attention from visitors worldwide. For reference, the company built the first wind farm in Serbia back in 2015 and currently has four operational wind farms in its portfolio, with a total capacity of 200 MW, generating 500 GWh of green electricity annually—enough to supply 130,000 households. MK Group has announced investments in renewable energy projects worth 900 million euros, which will contribute to the company’s goal of reaching 1 GW of green energy production. Today, the energy transition is not just an issue of energy but represents a new social balance between people and nature and between generations and communities.
