MK Group traditionally carries out socially responsible activities aimed at providing support to children, young people and families. The audience at this year’s Kopaonik Business Forum had the opportunity to hear about the donations that this company directed during the previous two years to maternity hospitals and kindergartens in the Adria region, and which were realized within the framework of the umbrella socially responsible program “Family Support” implemented by MK Group.

Jovan Purar, Director of the Legal and General Affairs Sector of MK Group, participated in the panel “Youth Calls for Action”, where he emphasized the importance of cooperation between business and the public sector. He explained that the company tries to meet issues of national importance, with a special focus on supporting children and young people.

“MK Group traditionally carries out socially responsible activities aimed at providing support to children and young people in various segments – from education, through healthcare, to helping socially vulnerable groups. But the Miodrag Kostić Endowment, which will give our society the Palace of Science, the first center for research and popularization of science in Serbia, certainly stands out for its national significance. With a donation worth more than 25 million euros, Miodrag Kostić wants to position knowledge as a universal value, especially among younger people. This space will open up horizons for new generations, children and students, and give young scientists the opportunity to do research in the conditions of the world’s best science centers”, said Jovan Purar, Director of the Legal and General Affairs Sector of MK Group and member of the Board of Directors of the Miodrag Kostić Endowment. He added that, in addition to the Palace of Science project, the company will allocate more than five million euros for social responsibility in the next five years.

Prof. Dr. Kosta Jovanović, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, spoke on the panel “Education 4.0”, which represents education as an inclusive, life experience, whose responsibility is to build skills in students. Jovanović explained that for the sake of sustainable progress in education, it is necessary to put the teacher and the student, that is, the student, in the foreground.

“It is necessary to look at the role and responsibility of all actors of our system in improving education as a sector that undoubtedly contributes to all aspects of society. When we have the synergy of the economy and scientific institutions, we will be more competitive and ready to fight in the international framework. The Miodrag Kostić Endowment and the Palace of Science are an exceptional example of support to our education”, said Kosta Jovanović.

Kosta Jovanović is one of 19 professors of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, who will manage the Center for Robotics in the future Palace of Science. The professors of this prestigious institution will have their own research centers in the Palace of Science, in which, on more than 1,500 m2 of exclusively laboratory space, they will engage in fundamental research and applied technologies in various scientific fields, thus making a significant contribution to the scientific and technological development of Serbia.
