MK Group organizes a regional CSR project every year, and in cooperation with state institutions, donates funds where they are most needed. This year, it was decided that the donations will be intended for student halls in the region, in order to improve the conditions in which young people live and study, and to support the education and development of young people, which is one of the main focuses of MK Group.
“MK Group has been regionally known for years for its investment in youth and education. Our socially responsible program is based on the desire to provide young people with the best conditions for learning and advancement. This year alone, we allocated 350,000 euros for student dormitories in the Adria region, which means that close to 6,000 students in Belgrade, Podgorica, Ljubljana and Zagreb will enjoy new and better study spaces from this school year,” pointed out Aleksandra Stojanović, Director of Corporate Affairs of MK Group.
In September of this year, the works in the Student Hall “Slobodan Penezić” in Belgrade, which were a joint donation of MK Group and AIK Bank, were completed. Thanks to a donation in the amount of 100,000 euros, students started the new academic year in better conditions and completely renovated rooms. The donation to the Student Hall “Slobodan Penezić” included the replacement of floors, interior doors, painting and painting works and complete furnishing of student rooms.
In the same month, the works in the student hall in Podgorica, in Montenegro, were completed. MK Group allocated 50,000 euros for the “Blue Palace” student dormitory in Podgorica, thanks to which the bathrooms and floor surfaces in the rooms and the hall were renovated, and the student rooms were painted and equipped with new furniture. The works also included the complete replacement of electrical and plumbing installations.
After that, in November, the multi-purpose hall for students in the Student Hall Ljubljana – Rožna dolina was officially opened. This hall, which covers an area of 200 square meters, is a center of creativity, knowledge and connections for the student community and social activities, in a student estate where more than 3,500 students from all over Slovenia reside. This reconstruction was the subject of a donation worth 100,000 euros that Gorenjska Banka and MK Group carried out as part of the regional social responsibility program “Family Support”.
The last completed project was the renovation of the gym and fitness hall in the Student Hall “Dr. Ante Starčević” in Zagreb. The donation in the amount of 100,000 euros was used for the renovation and equipping of the fitness hall and the gym in this student hall, which provides accommodation for 1,200 students.
After successfully realized donations in the Adria region, MK Group traditionally continues its philanthropic activities, and by the end of the year the Palace of Science will be opened – an Endowment of the company’s founder, Miodrag Kostić.
