The first piano, which has been the main concert instrument in the Ilija M. Kolarc Endowment since the opening of its building in 1932, has returned to its original home after 33 years, thanks to the help of MK Group.
It is a concert piano of the Blüthner brand, which was played by the most eminent pianists of the 20th century, including Sergei Prokofiev, Arthur Rubinstein, Nikolai Orlov, Nikita Magaloff, Claudio Arrau and numerous other outstanding pianists.
Namely, more than three decades ago, Kolarac Endowment gave the piano to the then hotel-apartment complex in Kopaonik for the organization of artistic music programs, and now this valuable musical instrument has been returned to its home, thanks to the cooperation and support of MK Group. On this occasion, the company was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.
„We are very fortunate that today, when we celebrate the Patron Saint of Ilija M. Kolarc and the Endowment, we can also express our gratitude to our friends and partners. Today we also announce the the start of the long-awaited renovation of the Endowment building. When we add to that this extremely emotional moment of the return of our first concert piano to its home, I especially thank the MK group”, said Aleksandar Peković, Manager of the Kolarac Endowment, at the solemn ceremony.
„We are extremely honored to have helped such a rarity of great value for Serbian culture to be found again in Kolarac Endowment. This is the most beautiful way to contribute to the celebration of the jubilee when this building celebrates 90 years since its opening”, said Mihailo Janković, Director General of MK Group, during the awarding of Certificates of Appreciation, when all the guests could see the exhibited Blüthner concert piano from 1932.
