Novi Sad, July 17, 2018 – On the occasion of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the existence of Parents’ House within the Endowment of Kostić family in Novi Sad, MK Group has donated additional interesting contents within the children’s playground for the children who are staying in the house. Apart from representatives of MK Group, representatives of the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR) and the Institute for Health Protection, Children and Youth of Vojvodina have also attended the celebration of the 5th anniversary.
“For a modern society, endowment is the concept of donating private property in order to achieve higher social goals. Led by this ideology, the President of MK Group, gave his family house as the Endowment of Kostić family in Novi Sad to the use of the Institute for Health Protection, Children and Youth of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. By donating the children’s playground, we wanted to make the stay of the children with malignant diseases even more humane wishing them a quick and full recovery as soon as possible” said Jovan Purar, Director of MK Group.
So far, more than 45 children with their families have stayed in the Parents’ House with their families, and cooperation with NURDOR and the Provincial Health Secretariat will be continued successfully in the future.
Since 2013, Parents’ House is intended for children coming from the inland accompanied by one parent during their treatment of malignant diseases. This type of accommodation is one of the forms of psycho-social support, which plays an important role in the healing process. The house, worth 1.5 million euros, extends to 1400 square meters and consists of several independent units. It was founded at the initiative of the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR) and with the support of the Provincial Government, and its mission is the accommodation of children suffering from malignant diseases from the territory of entire Vojvodina as well as providing support to their families. Since the opening, more than 40 families have been staying in the endowment of Kostić family during the treatment of malignant diseases.
