The Company MK Group, in partnership with the Slovenian Investment Fund Alfi Green Energy, is investing 155 million euros in the Wind Park “Krivača”. Construction began at the end of last year, and the start of “green energy” production is planned for the end of 2023.

“Krivača” is the first wind farm to be built in Eastern Serbia, and it will cover 56 km² on the territory of the municipalities of Golubac, Kučevo and Veliko Gradište. With a capacity of 105.6 MW and 22 wind turbines, it will produce 310 GWh of green electricity annually.

Mihailo Janković, CEO of MK Group pointed out: “MK Group has been investing in renewable energy sources for years, and our long-term strategy is further expansion in this field. Solo and in joint ventures, we are working on the development of 320 MW wind energy projects and 660 MW solar energy project, which are investments worth close to one billion euros planned for the next five years “.

The wind turbines that will be installed in “Krivača” will be supplied by the German Nordex Group, one of the world’s largest manufacturers, which has so far delivered wind turbines with a total capacity of over 39 GW to 40 markets, and this is its first project in Serbia. The importance of this investment was recognized by four banking groups – Erste, Raiffeisen, NLB and OeEB, which are partners in the project in the financing segment.

MK Group has been one of the leading companies in the production of electricity from wind in the region for a whole decade. So far, it has participated in the construction of three wind farms in Vojvodina (Kula, La Piccolina and Košava), and it is also participating in the first agro-solar project in the Balkans with a capacity of 660 MW in the territory of the municipality of Kula, the implementation of which is underway.
The “Krivača” wind farm, which is being implemented together with the Slovenian investment fund Alfi, is another project in the MK Group portfolio that provides strong support for the achievement of the Government of the Republic of Serbia’s goal of increasing the share of energy from renewable sources to at least 40 percent by 2040.
