The Portorož Airport is the third-largest international airport in Slovenia with a tradition longer than 60 years. More than 30,000 passengers pass through this Airport every year. The planned investments of EUR 7 billion by 2025 are aimed at transforming Portorož Airport into an environmentally friendly and digitalised airport with its own solar power plant, zero waste and reduced carbon footprint.

A new passenger terminal with a spacious common area, a shop, a restaurant and waiting room, and separate VIP areas are also planned. These improvements are aimed at the promotion of services and the modernisation of Portorož Airport to become the main air traffic hub of Istria.
