Gorenjska Banka and MK Group officially opened the renovated hall for students in the Student House Ljubljana – Rožna Dolina, in the presence of Urban Kodrič, Deputy Director of the Directorate for Higher Education and Tomaž Pečnik, Director of the Ljubljana Student House. The multi-purpose hall, which covers an area of 200 square meters, will become a center of creativity, knowledge and connection for the student community and social activities, in a student settlement where more than 3,500 students from all over Slovenia live. This reconstruction is the subject of a donation worth 100,000 euros that Gorenjska Banka and MK Group carried out as part of the regional social responsibility program “Family Support”.
„Favorable living conditions are very important for successful studies. The Ministry is facing a shortage of student places and we currently have several open investments, as well as renovations such as this multi-purpose hall, which will contribute to quality connection and cooperation among students”, said Dr. Igor Papič, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation in the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.
Tomaž Pečnik, Director of the Ljubljana Student Hall, presented the vision of the hall as a space for collaboration: “With the generous support of Gorenjska banka and MK Group, we realized the vision of the Ljubljana Student Hall, which provides students with modern and high-quality spaces for education, personal development and socializing. With the renovated multi-purpose hall, we are improving the concept of operation of our institution, which encourages cooperation, innovation and social connection among students.”
MK Group CEO Mihailo Janković and Gorenjska Banka CEO Mario Henjak emphasized the importance of partnerships between companies, educational institutions, local communities and society for the development of future talents.
„This year, we allocated a total of 350,000 euros for student dormitories in the Adria region. In Slovenia, together with Gorenjska banka, we donated 100,000 euros for a space where students will study and spend time. In the future, we will continue to invest in new generations and young talents, in order to provide them with the best conditions for acquiring new knowledge”, said Mihailo Janković, CEO of MK Group.
„We are proud to support this project, which will offer students a dynamic space for innovation and collaboration. Our donation reflects Gorenjska banka’s commitment to investing in the future of young people. We are convinced that this hall will become a key platform for the development of ideas and opportunities in our community”, said Mario Henjak, President of the Board of Gorenjska Banka, after the successful renovation and completion of the social responsibility program “Family Support”.
Gorenjska banka and MK Group confirmed their commitment to improving the living space of young people. The new hall will open the door to new partnerships and the development of ideas, and enrich the academic life and daily experiences of students. It will host various events, cultural manifestations, workshops and seminars, enabling students in the largest student settlement in Slovenia to expand their horizons and develop important skills.
