At the 32nd Kopaonik Business Forum, the company confirmed its leadership position in renewable energy projects and highlighted its good examples of circular economy practices.
MK Group once again emphasized the importance of investing in renewable energy projects at the Kopaonik Business Forum, while also showcasing its best practices to highlight the significance of the circular economy in today’s business environment.
Verica Teofilović, Director of Finance and Risk at MK Group, spoke on the panel titled “Why Circular Economy is the Business Opportunity of Our Time,” where she emphasized the importance of the circular economy in contemporary business and presented exceptional examples and best practices from companies within the MK Agri-Food division.
“The circular economy represents a key strategic advantage for MK Group, providing resilience to market changes and strengthening competitiveness. The digitalization of agriculture has brought us more precise resource management and increased productivity, while energy efficiency has resulted in cost reductions and long-term business sustainability. Sustainable food processing ensures more efficient use of raw materials, waste reduction, and compliance with environmental standards. All these practices contribute to resource optimization,” stated Verica Teofilović.
On the panel titled “Green Energy Transition – Reasons, Results, Key Events, and Contributions of Innovative Solutions,” Aleksandar Đorđević, Business Development Manager at MK Group, spoke. He conveyed that global warming significantly impacts businesses, especially in agriculture and tourism, sectors where MK Group is active.
“We are the largest independent electricity producer in Serbia. Our portfolio includes four operational wind farms with a total capacity of 200 MW, which produce a total of 500 GWh of electricity annually, enough to supply 130,000 households. In the upcoming period, we will implement investments totaling 900 million euros in wind, solar, and biomass energy projects,” said Aleksandar Đorđević.
On the last day of this year’s Kopaonik Business Forum, Jovan Purar, Director of the Legal and General Affairs Sector, and Nemanja Đorđević, Manager of the Miodrag Kostić Endowment, will represent MK Group.
