MK Group Donated More than 100,000 Euros to Educational Institutions in Montenegro

This year, MK Group donated more than 100,000 euros to educational institutions in Montenegro, and the donations were received by the “Pupil and Student Hall Podgorica” and the “Dušan Bojović” Elementary School in Nikšić County. The University of Podgorica Student Hall will use the funds to renovate and equip one wing of rooms in the “Blue Palace” Student Dormitory, which provides accommodation for more than 130 students. In addition to construction works, renovation of bathrooms and floor areas in rooms and hallways, painting and plastering of rooms, the funds will also be used for equipping student rooms with furniture. The foundation of the “Dušan Bojović” school will use the donation for the complete reconstruction of the gymnasium, which will give the children in this school a better and more beautiful space for their activities.

„MK Group’s donation is of great importance for our students, as it provides them with better conditions for education and life during their studies. Increasing the standard of accommodation directly affects their motivation, and thus the results they achieve, so our joint obligation is continuous work on improving the quality of the educational process in all segments. This is not the first time that MK Group supports the educational system of Montenegro. Thanks to this donation and the funds provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the and the public institution ” Pupil and Student Hall ” students will welcome the new academic year in much better conditions. This is only the first step in solving the issues related to student accommodation, and in the coming period special attention will be paid to this problem so that our students will have accommodation facilities that are in line with European standards within a reasonable period of time. This donation represents an important step in improving student standards and the quality of education, which is crucial for the future of our country”, said Prof. Dr. Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, Minister of Education.

„Work on the complete renovation of the “Blue Palace” building is ongoing and I expect it to be finished at the beginning of September. The conditions in which our students live and stay will be significantly improved, and I believe that after the renovation we will have a beautiful facility that we will all be extremely proud of,” said Luka Ilić, director of the ” Pupil and Student Hall Podgorica ”.

The signing of the contract was attended by Aleksandra Stojanović, Director of Corporate Affairs of MK Group. “This year’s donations will cover nearly 6,000 students in Podgorica, Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana, and we will allocate a total of 400,000 euros for student halls in the Adria region.” Specifically, we are allocating more than 100,000 euros for donations in Montenegro, for a student hall in Podgorica and an elementary school in Nikšić. In this way, we provide students with quality conditions for learning and living during their studies, with the desire to contribute to the education and development of new generations”, pointed out Aleksandra Stojanović.

This year’s MK Group donations are part of the regional philanthropic program through which the company continues its regular support activities for children, youth and education. This year’s donations in Montenegro were preceded by donations to preschool institutions and maternity hospitals. Just last year, MK Group allocated 680,000 euros for the renovation of 20 kindergartens in the Adria region, while in 2022, 570,000 euros were donated to 7 maternity hospitals in the Adria region, all within the “Family Support” program.
