Novi Sad, 18 June 2015 – Representatives of MK Group, as well as representatives of the Kostic family, the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR) and the Institute for Health protection of Children and Youth, have participated in the various activities associated with the organized event and therefore symbolically marked two years of the Parents House within the Endowment of the Kostic family in Petrovaradin. On this occasion MK Group has provided additional sports facilities that can be used by the children with malignant diseases within the house, in order to make their stay more humane.
“I am glad that we are here together in the Endowment of the Kostic family. Our friends, representatives NURDOR, the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, to whom the Parents’ House is entrusted, the Institute for Health Protection of Children and Youth, as well as families that have so far stayed in the Parents’ House are here with us today. We are proud to say that ever since it was founded in 2013, the Endowment of the Kostic family justified its purpose enabling the children and their parents who live in the Parents’ House to cope more easily with the difficult struggle they lead and to know that they are not alone in this fight ” said Miroslav Kovač, manager of the Endowment of the Kostic family and the member of the Kostic family.
For two years of the Parents’ House, 20 families stayed within the Endowment of the Kostic family in Novi Sad. Thanks to the generosity and humanity of Miodrag Kostić, President of MK Group, children with cancer from all over Vojvodina have preconditions for the high quality of medical treatment, rehabilitation and socialization.
“The great successes of NURDOR are Parents’ Houses in all three cities where the children are treated for malignancy, namely: Niš, Belgrade and Novi Sad. Thanks to Mr. Kostić, we permanently solved the problem of accommodation of children and parents who are treated at the hematology department in Novi Sad. The children in this house have the best conditions which, in addition to therapy, contribute to their successful treatment, “said Jolanda Korora, member of the Steering Committee of NURDOR and mother of the cured child.
“Parents’ House is a place with the most optimism within the children’s hospital, where the children are staying after being cured by the therapy and before they go home. An increasing number of small heroes show that the healing of malignancy is possible. Endowment of the Kostic family serves the children and the society as a whole” said Dr Slobodan Grebeldinger, Director of the Institute for Health Protection of Children and Youth in Novi Sad, thanking the Kostić family for this humane gesture.
Miodrag Kostić, President of MK Group, gave his family house as the Endowment of the Kostić family in Novi Sad to the use of the Institute of Health protection of Child and Youth in Novi Sad, for the purposes of more humane treatment, with the support of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina . Parental House where the children suffering from malignant diseases are staying together with their parents covers 1400 square meters. The total value of the house is 1.5 million euros, in addition to several independent units and a large number of rooms, the house also have a living room, dining room, kitchen, space for rehabilitation, a playroom, a part for the exercise, the swimming pool as well as the garden with 16 acres of land.
