MK Group received the award for socially responsible company of the year, which is awarded every year in December by the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM). At the SAM Gala ceremony, the award was presented to Aleksandar Kostić, President of MK Group, for an outstanding contribution to the community and commitment to philanthropic activities.
“I am particularly pleased that this is the second year in a row that I have received the award for social responsibility.” This year it is for MK Group projects, and last year for the establishment of the Miodrag Kostić Endowment. We will continue on the path of donating, and in the future, through everything we do, we will return to the community and contribute to the creation of a better and more humane society”, said Aleksandar Kostić, president of MK Group.
During 2024, MK Group allocated 800,000 euros for socially responsible projects aimed at supporting children, youth, education and family. A special focus was placed on the traditional regional CSR project, through which 350,000 euros were donated during this year for the renovation of student halls in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia, which improved living conditions for nearly 6,000 students. This project is a continuation of donations that included preschool institutions in 2023, and maternity hospitals throughout the Adria region in 2022.
This year, support to the SOS Children’s Villages Serbia foundation continued, through two donations – 90,000 euros for the “Support Program for Mothers and Babies” in Kraljevo and 42,000 euros for the Family Support Center in Raška. For the twelfth year in a row, the company organized a stay in Kopaonik for the best students from Kosovo and Metohija, and for the eleventh year in a row it supported the association NURDOR.
These are just some of the most significant philanthropic activities that earned MK Group recognition as the socially responsible company of the year. It is not the first time that the Serbian Association of Managers has awarded this award to a company that in the previous 5 years allocated 5 million euros for projects that affect positive changes in society and contribute to solving issues of national importance.
