Belgrade, 2 June 2016 – “In order to have overall progress of the society it is essential to have a greater number of successful private companies that are sustainable and from which the state and citizens can benefit,” said the President of MK Group, Miodrag Kostić, at the international gathering entitled “SCIENCE, ECONOMY AND SOCIETY”, organized by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and the Department of Technical Sciences (OTN) which has started today.
Miodrag Kostić said that the company MK Group operates for more than 33 years in 54 municipalities in Serbia, employs seven thousand people and has 50 thousand subcontractors in Vojvodina. It contributes to the state by regular payment of taxes and contributions. The meeting participants mutually concluded that the industry signifies accountability and that the survival of the industry represents the greatest achievement.
As part of the SANU celebration of 175 years of existence, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and the Department of Technical Sciences (OTN) have organized this event in order to encourage productive thinking and launch a campaign for stronger connection between science and economy and development of economic activities in Serbia.
