Wind and solar energy for a green Serbia.

ABOUT THE DIVISION

The largest independent producer of green electricity in Serbia

The MK Group has been recognised for almost a decade as one of the most important producers of energy from renewable sources in the Adria region.

As a pioneer in generating electricity from the wind, we opened the first wind farm in Serbia, and our portfolio includes four operating wind farms at present. We built three of them on the territory of Vojvodina, in partnership with Fintel Energija, while the fourth one was built in partnership with the Alfi Renewables investment fund as the first wind farm in East Serbia.

The capacity of the projects implemented so far is close to 200 MW and in the next three years, we will complete the new investments to reach as much as 1 GW from renewable energy sources.

By the end of 2026, we will invest more than EUR 900 million into wind, solar and biomass projects.

SOLAR POWER PLANTS

MK ENERGY

After a successful positioning in the generation of electricity from wind energy, together with Fintel Energija, we initiated the joint Agrosolar Kula project, an investment worth EUR 340 million. Agrosolar Kula is the first agrisolar project in the Balkans and currently the largest in Europe; it will cover 770 ha in the territory of the municipality of Kula in Vojvodina.

The solar power plant will have a capacity of 660 MW, with an annual production of green energy of about 832 GWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 200,000 households. It is an ideal combination of green energy and sustainable agriculture, as it uses the energy of the sun and enables the sustainable agricultural production of shrub plant species under the solar panels. The completion of construction is planned for the end of 2026.

BIOGAS PLANT

We have significantly contributed to CO2 emission reduction through our biogas plant in Vrbas, the capacity of which is 2.4 MW/h. This plant operates within Sunoko and produces green energy from by-products from sugar beet processing. The EUR 9.5 million investment was made in 2021, with the beginning of the test production in 2022, during which 2,660,000 kWh was delivered to the electrical grid.
