The Miodrag Kostić Foundation has opened the Palace of Science – Miodrag Kostić Foundation, Serbia’s first centre for scientific research and popularisation of science, and the largest of its kind in the region. With an investment of over €25 million in supporting scientific and technological development, young scientists and education, the project represents one of the largest individual philanthropic contributions in the region.

Spanning more than 5,500 m², the Palace of Science brings together scientific research and activities designed for the general public. Scientific research is conducted across 19 research centres, in partnership with the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, while the exhibition space is dedicated to making science accessible to all generations, with a particular focus on inspiring curiosity among children through numerous interactive and educational exhibits.

The first year of the Palace of Science was marked by significant achievements: 107,789 visitors, 21,572 students, 54 external and 145 internal events, as well as eight awards. Scientific research activities resulted in 62 conference papers, 28 papers published in scientific journals, 29 bachelor’s theses and 22 master’s theses.
